Hello! Thanks for taking a peek at this blog and post. I’m not a person of many words, so I’ll keep this short-ish.

I’m making this blog to mainly share photos of interesting and/or good foods I’ve had the pleasure of eating throughout my travels or day-to-day life. However, it’s not limited to just photos of food though! I want this to be all encompassing when it comes to ‘food’; reviews, recipes, photos, and whatever else that might pop into my mind. Whatever I want to share, I’ll eventually make a post on this blog; but I do have a nasty habit of procrastination so cut me some slack if there’s no regular updates.

I suppose I should quickly explain the title if anyone is ever curious; my last name is ‘Fan’ and this blog is about ‘food’, therefore ‘Fan x Food’. You’ll notice my username is FSquared, and that’s because F x F in math would equal F^2, or F Squared. Don’t judge.

Reviews + Recipes

When it comes to recipes, I’ll try my best to make it clear and succinct. I have a real pet peeve about the 3000 word essays some people write about the food before they get to the actual recipe, so it’d be hypocritical if I were to do the same. If I ever want to make a lengthy post about a specific recipe, I promise to do it at the bottom after I give you the actual recipe.

As for reviews; I’ll likely only review places that I either, enjoy going to regularly, enjoyed so much it knocked my socks off when I tried them, or if the location is an established location. I don’t want to publicly review any spot that I disliked or are new-ish to the food scene; I want to share my enjoyment of food with people, not knock others down for something I may not have enjoyed. Therefore, you likely won’t see any ‘bad’ reviews, and anything I didn’t enjoy I’ll find a tactful way to express.

I’ll review using a 1-10 scale [not that you’ll ever see anything under a 5] with 1 = completely inedible and might have made me sick, 5 = it was edible but nothing overly special (think McDonald’s burgers; it’s edible but nothing stands out in particular), and 10 = I want to marry the chef.

Let’s just have fun with this!
